Understanding Zones
Porto's system is based on zones. The number of zones you cross determines the ticket type.
Use a Z2 ticket for travel within the same zone where you validate your card. Ideal if you are moving strictly within the City Center.
Use a Z3 ticket when crossing into a second zone from your starting point. Required for trips like City Center ↔ Matosinhos.
Use a Z4 ticket when crossing into a third zone. This is the one you strictly need for the City Center ↔ Airport route.
Andante Tour Passes
Get this if you don't want to worry about the zones. Valid at metro, bus, and train.
Andante Tour 1
7€
Unlimited travel for 24h across all zones. Best if you plan multiple trips in one day, including the Airport or Beaches.
Andante Tour 3
15€
Unlimited travel for 72h across all zones. The best value for a 3-day stay to explore the entire city and its surroundings.
Where to Buy?
The Andante Tour Card is sold at the tourist office at the airport and at Andante shops.
STCP Integration
Your Andante card works seamlessly on both the metro and STCP buses. When transferring from the metro to the bus or vice versa, you will not be charged again within a certain period of time, depending on the zone.
Always Validate!
Changing lines? Taking a bus? Validate your ticket again!
- Failing to validate is the #1 reason tourists get fined.
